Mubasher: Qatar Airways on Wednesday announced that it has opened negotiations with the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) on complying with their request for their cargo to undergo enhanced screening.
On Monday, the TSA revealed that it would ask six airways in the Middle East to tighten cargo security at their airports in the region, according to Reuters.
The six airways include Qatar Airways, Emirates and Etihad Airways which are operating out of Doha’s Hamad International Airport and AbuDubai International Airport, Dhabi International Airport, respectively.
While the remaining three airways comprise Saudia, EgyptAir and Royal Jordanian which are operating out of Jeddah’s King Abdul-Aziz International Airport, Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport, Cairo International Airport, and Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport, respectively.
Cargo from those airports will be screened and secured according to Air Cargo Advance Screening protocols.
