Qatar Airways’ private jet division to receive 25 aircraft by 2022

Mubasher: Qatar Airways’ (QA) private jet charter division revealed its brand-new executive jet, the Gulfstream G500 agreement.

The private jet division will receive further 25 aircraft by 2022, according to the state-run carrier’s statement late on Monday.

The announcement took place on the opening day of Farnborough International Airshow, which occurs during the period between 16 – 22 July at Farnborough Airport, United Kingdom.

The state-owned flag carrier of Qatar will receive 8 of the ordered jets by the end of 2019.

The aircraft’s remarkable range makes it capable of travelling non-stop from Istanbul to Cape Town; Los Angeles to London; and San Francisco to Tokyo, according to the statement.

It is worth noting that the Qatari airline works on expanding its destinations around the world including Argentina, Brazil, Patagonia, Surinam and Uruguay as a step to overcome the Arab blockade.

Since 5 June 2017, Qatar has been facing outflows of foreign customers' deposits after four Arab countries led by Saudi Arabia cut their diplomatic and trade ties with the gas-rich state, accusing Qatar of financing terrorism. Doha forcefully denies the charges.

In May, the private charter provider received its fifth Gulfstream G650ER aircraft, the fastest, ultra-long-range business jet in the industry, making Qatar Executive the world’s largest owner-operator of this jet type.

QA did not give further details concerning the deal's total cost.
