Mubasher: Qatar Airways announced the acquisition of a minority stake in JetBlue-backed private jet company JetSuite Inc.
As per the deal, the Doha-based carrier would also join JetBlue Airways, in addition to a number of private investors with stakes in both JetSuite and JetSuiteX, according to the company’s statement issued on Tuesday.
The takeover will increase the US airline's investments and enhance JetSuite’s growth, which currently focuses on light and very light jets, Qatar Airways noted.
Qatar Airways, the national carrier, did not give further details concerning the value of the deal.
On Tuesday 10 April, the Qatari airline had signed a letter of intent with Boeing to buy five aircraft 777 with a total value of $1.7 billion.
It is worth noting, Qatar Airways’ fleet includes more than 200 planes heading over 150 destinations across the world.
