Qatar Airways eyes raising fleet 23% by end-2019 – CEO

Mubasher: Qatar Airways has revealed plans to raise its fleet by 23% to more than 285 aircraft by the end of 2019, from 232 currently, CEO Akbar Al Baker said on Wednesday.

The Qatari state-run carrier is seeking to increase the number of jets to 248 before the end of 2018, Al Baker added, according to Lusail news.

The CEO’s statement came on the sidelines of signing Qatar Airways’ sponsorship to South American Football Confederation’s (CONMEBOL) tournaments in the coming four and half years.
