Mubasher: Qatar Airways announced that its inaugural flight from Doha to London Gatwick touched down at London Gatwick Airport on Tuesday, increasing its destinations in the European country to six.
These six destinations will enable passengers from the UK to travel to more than 150 locations all over the world, according to the state-owned airline’s statement.
The Qatari firm is boosting its footprint in the UK, especially after launching its inaugural flight to Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, in early May, Qatar Airways' CEO Akbar Al Baker said.
Qatar Airways’ weekly flights to the UK amount to 95, including six daily flights to Heathrow Airport, followed by 16 weekly ones to Gatwick Airport and Manchester Airport.
There are also daily flights to Cardiff and Edinburgh, in addition to seven weekly flights to Birmingham, the state-run carrier noted.
