Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange posted a positive monthly performance in October, supported by the gains of five market sectors, and the release of financial results and statement for the third quarter of the year.
The General Index rose by 4.97% to the level of 10,300.92 points, ending the month at its highest level since April 2017, with gains nearing 488 points.
Market capitalization increased by 6.04% month-on-month and reached QAR 580.5 billion by the end of Wednesday 31 October.
The 45 listed companies saw a rise in profits by a collective 10.9% year-on-year growth to QAR 10.2 billion.
Real estate led the rising sector, adding 7.64%, followed by banks and industrials gaining 7.57% and 4.47%, respectively.
Although turnovers declined by 4.25% to around QAR 4.27 billion, traded volumes dropped even further by 7.07% to 125.20 million shares, down from 134.73 million shares in September.
