Mubasher: Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZA) has announced the opening of applications for MARSA, a new port and marine cluster in Umm Alhoul Free Zone.
QFZA unveiled the launch of MARSA, located adjacent to Hamad Port and 20 minutes from downtown Doha, at the Qatar International Boat Show on Tuesday.
Having a 1.6-kilometre length, 500-metre wide draught and a total of 3 kilometres of quay wall, MARSA is designed to service ships up to 70 metres long and support a wide range of marine activities.
Qatar’s marine sector witnessed a 16% growth in the number of vessels used in 2018, QFZA’s chief corporate services officer Fahad Zainal said.
