Mubasher: The Qatari gross domestic product (GDP) grew 2% during the full-year 2017, economy and commerce minister Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani said.
GDP of the world’s biggest LNG exporter rose to $220 billion last year, compared to $218 billion in 2016.
Non-oil sector made up 52% of the total GDP, Al Thani added.
The volume of foreign trade hiked 16% to $103 billion in 2017 from $89 billion in the year before, the minister said.
While Qatar's trade balance surplus surged 40% to $35 billion during the last four quarters versus $25 billion in 2016, Al Thani said, explaining that these positive results were reflected in several ratings of global agencies.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expected the economy of the world's richest country per capita to grow 2.6% in 2018.
