Doha – Mubasher: Qatar’s Producer Price Index (PPI) declined in the second quarter of 2016 by 28.4% year-on-year to 45.1 points, but rose 3.7% quarter-on-quarter.
The mining sector, which constitutes 72.7% of the PPI weight, grew in Q2-16 by 3.2% q-o-q, according to a report released Monday by the ministry of development planning and statistics.
The manufacturing sector (26.8% of the PPI weight) rose in Q2-16 by 5.4% q-o-q.
On the other hand, the Electricity and Water (0.5% of the PPI weight) fell in Q2-16 by 6.3% q-o-q, due to a decrease of 4.8% in electricity production prices and 8.4% in water production prices.
