Mubasher: Qatar Petroleum has sold two cargos of al-Shaheen crude oil through private talks for the first time, sources said on Monday.
The two shipments were delivered to a Japanese end-user and an oil major, Reuters reported, citing the sources.
The state-owned petroleum company sold the cargos with an average of $0.80 - $0.90 per barrel, the sources noted.
It is noteworthy that Qatar Petroleum typically sells the medium-sour grade via a monthly tender, while some buyers have requested for direct price talks.
Al-Shaheen offshore field, Qatar’s largest oil field, contains 33 platforms and 400 wells, and produces around 300,000 barrels per day (bpd).
