Qatar achieves QAR 7bn BoP surplus in Q3

Mubasher: Qatar has recorded a QAR 6.97 billion ($1.93 billion) surplus in the balance of payments (BoP) during the third quarter of 2018.

The goods trade balance’s surplus increased to QAR 48.03 billion in Q3-18 versus QAR 35.9 billion in the year-ago period, according to a report released by the Qatar Central Bank (QCB).

From July to September, the Qatari exports registered QAR 79.82 billion, while the country’s imports hit QAR 31.79 billion.

The services trade deficit reached QAR 12.95 billion in the three-month period ended 30 September, while the current transfers deficit recorded QAR 15.28 billion in Q3-18, the QCB’s data showed.
