Mubasher: Deposits at banks operating in Qatar decreased 3.3% month-on-month in April 2018, the Qatar Central Bank’s (QCB) data showed on Sunday.
Total deposits levelled down to QAR 794.26 billion ($218.18 billion) in April, from QAR 821.54 billion ($780.95 billion) a month earlier.
Year-on-year, lenders' deposits went up 1.7%, according to the QCB's data.
Meanwhile, the private sector’s total deposits decreased 0.9% to QAR 462.97 billion last month, versus QAR 467.18 billion in March 2018.
Qatari government deposits retreated 5.6% to QAR 303.81 billion in April, versus QAR 321.78 billion in the month before.
Meanwhile, deposits of non-bank financial institutions plunged 16.5% to QAR 27.47 billion in April, compared to QAR 32.88 billion in March.
