Qatar – Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) slipped on Sunday as most sectors were down. The main index fell by as much as 0.96% or 93.32 points to close at 9,673.9 points.
Rayan Islamic Index also drifted 1.04% lower to 3,547.94 points. QE All Share Index fell by 0.99% to 2,580.71 points.
A total of 3.55 million shares were exchanged in 2,898 transactions at turnover reaching QAR 123.30 million.
The index needs to cross the 9,900 barrier with strong liquidity in order to shoot above the 10,100 mark after which it will extend the rally, said Ayoub Ishban, financial analyst and economist.
The services sector led decliners, with a loss of 1.60%, while insurance was the sole gainer with a rise of 3.18%.
Out of the 39 companies traded today, decliners outnumbered advancers by 28 to 8, while 3 remained unchanged.
Qatar General Insurance was the best performer, with a rise of 5.39%, while Medicare was the worst performer with a fall of 4.66%.
Gulf International stock was the top active in terms of traded value and volume, upon exchanging 528,000 shares at turnover exceeding QAR 23 million.
