Qatar index closes on negative note

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange closed Monday’s session falling by 0.08% or 8 points to the level of 10,428.72 points.

Trading volume decreased to 4.37 million shares from 13.22 million shares exchanged on Thursday, turnover also shrank to QAR 136.13 million from QAR 293.32 million.

The consumer goods and services sector dropped 0.54% as Zad Holding topped losers with a fall of 7%.

The banking sector declined 0.35% due to a decrease of 2.15% in Commercial Bank of Qatar and 0.55% in QNB.

The real estate sector dropped 0.27%, dragged by a fall of 2.37% and 1.11% in United Development and Mazaya Qatar.

On the other hand, the industrial sector grew 0.60, backed by an increase of 1.3% in Industries Qatar, the transportation sector leapt 0.29% as Gulf Warehousing leapt 3.6%, the best performing stock.

Vodafone Qatar made the biggest trading volume activity with 1.15 million shares, while Industries Qatar made the highest turnover of QAR 16.83 million.
