Qatar index down at open on blue chips

Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) declined in Wednesday’s early trading by 0.02% or 1.90 points tom the level of 10,583.04 points.

Trading volume reached 2.1 million shares exchanged by 09:00am Doha time through 1,100 transactions, making a turnover of QAR 70.61 million.

The index was dragged by the fall in some blue chips as Masraf Al Rayan, QNB amd Ezdan fell 1.46%, 0.55% and 0.07% respectively.

Six sectors opened in red topped by the banking sector after falling 0.40%, while the real estate sector rose alone by 1.13%.

Barwa Real Estate topped gainers after adding 9.29%, while Qatar Islamic Insurance headed losers after falling 2.39%.

Barwa led the trading activity with a volume of 1.2 million shares exchanged at QAR 46.1 million.
