Qatar index falls 1.33% at close

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) index declined at Sunday’s close by 1.33% or 126.36 points to the level of 9,343.57 points.

Trading volume declined to 4.9 million shares from 17.49 million shares exchanged on Thursday, turnover also decreased to QAR 131.6 billion from QAR 433.04 billion.

The market’s sectors fell collectively at close, topped by the industrial sector after falling 1.56%, pressured by a 3.40% declined in Qatar Electricity and Water.

The bank’s sector shrank 1.19% as Doha Bank and Qatar National Bank (QNB) retreated 1.64% and 1.32%, respectively.

Doha Insurance was the worst performing stock after falling 4.28%, while Vodafone Qatar topped gainers after adding 1.28%.

Vodafone Qatar made the biggest trading volume activity with 1.8 million shares, while QNB made the highest turnover of QAR 26.3 million.
