Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) main index declined at Thursday’s close by 0.42% or 45.85 points to the level of 10,989.76 points.
Trading volume increased to 9.03 million shares from 8.24 million shares exchanged on Wednesday, turnover also rose to QAR 306.5 million from QAR 239.7 million.
The index was pressured by the fall in some blue chips as Masraf Al Rayan, Ezdan and QNB shrank 1.62%, 1.52% and 1.28% respectively.
Four sectors closed in red, topped by the real estate sector, down 1.36%. The banking sector declined 0.81.
Meanwhile, three sectors closed in green topped by the telecom sector, up 1.28%, backed by an increase of 1.59% in Ooredoo.
Mazaya Qatar, down 0.47%, made the biggest trading volume activity with 1.45 million shares, while QIIB, up 2.95%, made the highest turnover of QAR 32.3 million.
National Cement was the top gainer after adding 4.08%, whereas Salam International was the top loser after falling 2.11%.
