Doha – Mubasher: Qatar officially invited all members of Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and other oil producers to attend the meeting scheduled for 17 April, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA) citing a statement by the Ministry Of Energy and Industry.
The statement stressed that there is an urgently need to restore balance to the market and recovery to global economy, and the goal of the meeting is to freeze oil output at January 2016 level in order to reduce the surplus in the global stock to serve the interests of all concerned parties.
Last week, Qatar’s oil minister, Mohammed Al-Sada, said that a number of OPEC members and non-cartel countries will gather in Doha on 17 April.
