Mubasher: Qatar's trade balance surplus with Japan surged 39.7% year-on-year in April 2018.
The trade balance surplus between the two nations amounted to JPY 108.1 billion ($972.9 million) in the fourth month of 2018, compared to JPY 77.4 billion ($696.7 million) in the same month a year earlier, according to the Japanese Finance Ministry's monthly bulletin on Monday.
Exports of Qatar, the world’s biggest liquefied natural gas (LNG) exporter, to the Asian nation jumped 35% to JPY 119.86 billion ($1.08 billion) in April, versus JPY 88.78 billion ($799 million) for the same period of the prior year, the official data showed.
Meanwhile, Qatari imports from Japan grew 3.1% to JPY 11.72 billion ($105.5 million) last month, from JPY 11.37 billion ($102.3 million) in the comparative period of 2017.
