Mubasher: The Consultative Assembly of Qatar on Monday discussed a draft law to set some customs duties on several types of iron, which are similar to those produced by Qatar Steel.
The draft law was submitted to the financial and economic affairs committee for review and issue a report about it.
Members in Qatar’s Consultative Assembly stressed the importance of the draft law in protecting the local iron and steel industry, which in turn helps in Qatar’s development.
Last week, the Qatari Consultative Assembly approved a report by the financial and economic affairs committee on law no. 18 of 2018, which entailed amendments to some articles in the law governing tenders and bids in law no. 24 of 2015.
