Qatar’s GDP down 19.8% in Q4-15

Doha – Mubasher: Initial estimates of Qatar’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the fourth quarter of 2015 declined 19.8% at current and constant prices, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported on Monday citing government data.

Preliminary estimates indicate that GDP at current prices for Q4-15 reached QAR 147.03 million ($40.37 billion), compared to estimates of QAR 183.29 billion ($50.33 billion) in Q4-14.

The country’s GDP shrank 0.4% in Q4-15 comparing with the revised estimates of QAR 147.54 billion ($40.51 billion) for a quarter earlier, according to data quoted from a report by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics.

Estimates of Q4-15 GDP reached QAR 200.54 billion ($55.07 billion) at constant prices of 2013, rising 4% from QAR 192.77 billion ($52.93 billion) in Q4-14.
