Doha – Mubasher: Qatar’s gross domestic product (GDP) at constant prices grew by 2% to QAR 197.83 billion during the second quarter of the fiscal year 2016, versus QAR 193.88 billion for Q2-15.
Also, constant-price GDP grew by 2.5% compared to QAR Q1-16 revised estimates of QAR 192.97 billion, according to a report released on Monday by the ministry of development planning and statistics.
The quarterly GDP at current prices in the Q2 of 2016 is estimated at QAR 135.37 billion, 11% down from QAR 152.09 billion estimated for Q2-15, and 2.7% up from QAR 131.79 billion for Q1-16, reflecting a recovery in oil and gas global prices in Q2-16.
The gross value added (GVA) estimate of the non-mining and quarrying sectors was place at QAR 95,08 billion for Q2-16, rising 4.4% compared to an estimate of QAR 91.04 billion for Q2-15 and 1.2% compared to Q1-16.
The real GVA of these sectors reached increased during Q2-16 by 5.5% to QAR 98.33 billion from a GVA estimate of QAR 93.16 billion for Q2-15 and 1.6% quarter-on-quarter.
