Doha – Mubasher: Qatar’s Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) issued 1,351 commercial registrations in April 2016, according to a report released by the ministry on Sunday.
The new registrations include 987 main registrations, forming 73% of the total commercial registrations issued last month, and 364 branch registrations, representing 27% of the total.
One-person companies topped the list with 494 new registrations or 53% of the total number, followed by companies with limited liability with 379 registrations or 41% of the total.
Meanwhile, solidarity companies came third with 56 registrations or 6% of the total number issued.
Contracting companies were the most active with 27%of total registrations in April, followed by building materials trade (12%), detergents (9%), eateries, fast food and vegetables and fruits (7%), groceries (5%) and other companies (40%).
