Qatar’s PPI up 0.2% last October

Doha – Mubasher: Qatar’s Producer price index (PPI) rose 0.2% to 55.9 points month-on-month last October, and fell 36.2% year-on-year, according to figures by the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics.

The ministry’s report released on Sunday showed that the PPI covers three main sectors; mining, electricity and water, and manufacturing, which respectively account for 72.7%, 0.5% and 26.8% of the index.

The mining sector, in October 2015, stood at the same rates of September backed by stable crude oil and gas prices, but it dropped by 38.7 in the same month last year.

The manufacturing sector rose 0.8% m/m and 30.8% y/y, while the electricity and water sector declined 1% m/m and 7.2% y/y.
