Qatar’s benchmark index gains 269 points; all sector up

Doha – Mubasher: Qatari benchmark index closed Tuesday at the level of 10,174.80 points after rising 2.71% or about 268.80 points.

Al Rayan Islamic Index jumped 3.40% to 3,790.63 points, and the All Shares Index increased 2.58% to 2,715.79 points.

Trading volume reached 11.21 million shares valued at QAR 346.22 million through 5,183 trades, compared to 5.07 million shares exchanged in 3,241 trades worth QAR 205.14 million.

The market’s main sectors rose collectively, led by telecom and real estate which moved up 5.37% and 3.70%, respectively.

Forty shares, out of 42, closed with higher rates, one closed down, and another remained flat.

Islamic Holding topped the risers with a growth of 9.94%, while Gulf Navigation came alone on the red list after declining 0.74%.

The biggest trading volume was recorded by Vodafone Qatar as it saw about 1.9 million shares being exchanged, while the Gulf International achieved a turnover of about QAR 47 million, the day’s heaviest.  

The bourse’s main index closed Monday at the level of 9,906 after shrinking 0.07% or about 6.92 points.
