Qatar's benchmark touches one-year high

Doha – Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) maintained its uptrend for the third session in a row, climbing to a one-year high.

The benchmark added 1.22% or 122.14 points to reach 10,136.57 points.  Likewise, QE Al Rayan Islamic Index rose 1.63% to 3,771.95 points. QE All Share Index ended higher 1.05% to 2,742.15 points.

Trading volume rose 22.6% to 15.63 million shares from 12.75 million shares yesterday.

Similarly, trading value increased 13.5% to QAR 468.43 million, compared with QAR 412.6 million.

Sector-wise, telecoms and real estate were the leaders with a rise of 2.72% and 2.71% respectively. Meanwhile, the laggards were consumer goods and insurance as they fell 1.18% and 0.56% in the same order.  

Tracking stock movements, National Leasing led the advancers by adding 9.99%, while Gulf International Services headed the decliners with a 5.23% loss.

Sectorally, Vodafone Qatar topped telecom risers as it moved up 5.14%. Meanwhile, Widam Food ended lower 2.36% to head the laggards of consumer goods & services.

With 2.39 million shares changed hands, Vodafone Qatar was the most active stock by volume, with turnover of QAR 26.62 million.

QAR 61.6 million classed Gulf International as the value leader after 1.75 million shares were traded.

Yesterday, the benchmark ended the session up 0.45% to 10,014.43 points
