Qatar’s crude exports fall 14% in December

Mubasher: Qatar’s exports of crude oil dropped 14.4% month-on-month in December 2018, according to the Joint Organisations Data Initiative (JODI).

The gas-rich country’s crude exports fell by 86,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 511,000 bpd in December, from 597,000 bpd in November.

On a yearly basis, the GCC nation’s oil exports rose 4.5% in December, from 489,000 bpd, JODI's data showed.

Qatar’s average crude output amounted to 517,600 bpd for the full-year 2018, against 465,600 bpd in the prior year.

Crude production from the world’s biggest exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) exceeded 600,000 bpd from its onshore and offshore fields including Al Shaheen, Dukhan, and Bul Hanine.

It is noteworthy that Qatar announced last December that it would withdraw from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in January.
