Qatar’s foreign reserves rise 0.2% in January

Mubasher:  Qatar's foreign reserves inched up 0.2% month-on-month, or QAR 205 billion ($56.31 billion), in January 2018 for the fourth consecutive month, according to the Qatar Central Bank’s (QCB) monthly monetary bulletin on Wednesday.

Doha’s total international reserves reached QAR 137.13 billion ($37.67 billion) in the first month of the year, the data showed.

Year-on-year, overseas reserves of the world’s biggest exporter of liquefied natural gas slid 17.5% to QAR 166.31 billion in January.

Total reserves of the world's richest country per capita went down to QAR 29.4 billion in November 2017 versus QAR 166.53 billion in May on the back of the diplomatic rift between Qatar and four Arab countries brewed in June 2017.
