Qatar’s inflation falls 0.4% in September – MDPS

Mubasher: Qatar’s consumer price index (CPI) declined 0.4% year-on-year in September, recording 107.99 points.

The gas-rich nation’s inflation dipped 1.1% month-on-month in September. 

The prices of a group of five segments decreased last month topped by telecommunications, which levelled down 11.9%, followed by the culture and entertainment by 4.6%, and the housing, water, electricity and gas, food and beverages and goods and services sectors, which fell 2.9%, 2.5% and 0.8%, according to a report released by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the prices of six segments witnessed an increase headed by the transportation, which rose 6.1%, followed by the education, clothes, and health sectors with 5.6%, 3.1%, and 2.9%, respectively.
