Doha – Mubasher: Qatar's inflation rate grew 0.3% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2017, registering 108.8 points.
This increase resulted from higher inflation in four sectors, according to an official statement released by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS).
The transportation sector’ prices surged 7.8% in Q4-17, while foods and beverages’ prices increased by 5.3% in the same period.
On the other hand, the prices declined in six sectors – among them housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels – whose prices dropped 5.6% in the last three months of 2017, MDPS’s data showed.
Moreover, the prices of six groups, including clothes and footwear, rose from October to December 2017 compared to the previous quarter, while the prices of four groups went down in Q4 versus Q3’s figures.
