Qatar’s inflation rate rises 2.6% in September

Doha - Mubasher: The Qatari ministry of development planning and statistics released on Sunday the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for September and it showed a 2.6% rise compared to September 2015, and a 0.1% increase compared to August.

The data released by the ministry shows rises in four main groups, namely education by 1.6%, recreation and culture by 0.7%, restaurants and hotels by 0.2%, and health by 0.1%.

On the other hand there was a decline in the prices of clothing and footwear by 0.9%, followed by miscellaneous goods and services with 0.3%, as well as furniture and household equipment and also transport by 0.1% for each.

Meanwhile, food and beverages, tobacco, housing, water, electricity and fuels, and communication have remained stable compared to the prices of last month.
