Doha – Mubasher: Qatar’s consumer price index (CPI) recorded 107.6 points in March, rising by 3.3% year-on-year, while remained unchanged compared to February, according to government data. (the monthly report of the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics.)
Excluding the housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels group, the CPI for March stood at 105.4 points compared to February and rose 2.6% y-o-y.
Out of 12 groups included by the price basket, five groups were up, two others dropped and the five remaining were flat, said the monthly report of the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics.
Recreation and culture group increased by 0.7% y-o-y, followed by clothing and footwear, restaurants and hotels and miscellaneous goods and services groups which each rose 0.4% y-o-y, while the housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels group grew 0.1%.
On the other hand, food and beverages, transport, tobacco, furnishing and household equipment, healthcare, telecom and education groups stood at the same rates.
