Qatar's investments in Oman hit $200m

Mubasher: Qatar's investments in 152 Omani companies amounted to OMR 77 million ($200.37 million), Qatar Chamber (QC) said on Sunday. 

The total value of Omani companies amounted to OMR 116 million ($301.86 million), according to QC’s statement.

These companies are operating in different fields including trade, real estate, services, industry, mining, transportation, and healthcare.

It is worth noting that Omani’s imports from Qatar jumped 48% to OMR 128 million ($333.09 million), compared exports worth OMR 549 million ($1.43 million) by the end of 2017.

The announcement came in line with launching Made in Qatar 2018 exhibition (MIQ) on Monday, 3 December in Muscat.

The four-day event, ending on 6 November, will offer mega investment opportunities for manufacturers, businessmen and investors to discover the locally-manufactured products and demands of the Qatari market.
