Mubasher: Money supply (M2) at banks operating in Qatar declined 6.1% year-on-year in January, according to the Qatar Central Bank's (QCB) monthly monetary bulletin.
M2, which includes current and saving accounts, as well as deposits, retreated to QAR 562.33 billion ($155.42 billion) in the first month of 2019, from QAR 598.87 billion ($165.52 billion) in the same month a year earlier.
At the end of January, total currency issued by the QCB rose 4.2% to QAR 17.03 billion, compared to QAR 16.34 billion in the same month in 2018.
