Mubasher: Qatar reduced its oil production by 2,000 barrel per day (bpd) in September, bucking the trend of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
Qatar’s oil output reached 616,000 bpd in September, compared to 618,000 bpd a month earlier, according to OPEC’s report released on Thursday.
Similarly, six other countries lowered their output last month topped by Iran, OPEC’s third-largest producer, which declined its production to 150,000 bpd, followed by Venezuela, Algeria and Guinea with 42,000 bpd, 8,000 bpd and 2,000 bpd, respectively.
On the other hand, seven countries raised their output headed by Saudi Arabia with 108,000 bpd, followed by Libya and Angola with 103,000 bpd and 57,000, respectively.
Generally, OPEC output grew by 132,000 bpd in September to 32.761 million bpd, from 32.629 million bpd in August.
