Qatar’s trade surplus hits QAR 29bn in Q2 – QCB

Mubasher: Qatar’s trade balance surplus hiked 187% year-on-year during the second quarter of 2018, according to the Qatar Central Bank's (QCB) data on Monday.

The GCC nation's trade surplus amounted to QAR 29 billion ($8 billion) in Q2-18, compared to QAR 10.12 billion ($2.8 billion) in Q1-18.

The gas-rich country posted a surplus during the three-month period ended 31 June, from a deficit of QAR 35.6 billion in the same period of the prior year.

Total exports of the world’s biggest liquefied natural gas (LNG) exporter recorded QAR 75.7 billion in Q2-18, while imports reached QAR 30 billion, data showed.
