Mubasher: Qatar’s trade surplus surged 49% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2017, the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) said in a statement on Thursday.
The world’s biggest exporter of liquefied natural gas posted QAR 35.9 billion ($9.9 billion) trade surplus in Q3-17 from QAR 24.1 million ($6.6 billion) in the same period a year earlier, the statement added.
Quarter-on-quarter, the trade surplus of the world's richest country per capita increased 12.5%.
The surplus hike was attributed to the rise of Qatar’s exports by 17.1% to QAR 60.3 billion ($16.6 billion) in Q3-17 from QAR 51.5 billion ($14.1 billion) in the corresponding period last year.
