Mubasher: The trade surplus between Qatar and Japan increased 8% in 2017, according to the monthly bulletin issued by the Japanese Ministry of Finance.
During 2017, the trade surplus reached JPY 1.1 trillion ($9.9 billion), the ministry’s data showed on Wednesday.
The trade surplus growth was attributed to an increase in Qatar’s exports to Japan by 4% to reach JPY 1.23 trillion ($11.2 billion).
While total imports of the world’s biggest exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Japan declined 20.2% to JYP 133.46 billion ($1.21 billion).
On the other hand, Japan’s trade balance slid 25.1% to JYP 2.99 trillion ($27.2 billion) in 2017, according to the data.
