Mubasher: Qatar’s trade surplus with Japan leaped 47.7% year-on-year in October, according to the Japanese Ministry of Finance's (MoF) monthly bulletin released on Monday.
Trade surplus between the two countries amounted to JPY 144.15 billion ($1.27 billion) in October, compared to JPY 97.58 billion ($865.15 million) in the same period of the previous year.
The ministry attributed the trade surplus increase to a rise in Qatar’s exports to the world’s third largest economy by 51% to JPY 161.92 billion ($1.44 billion) last month, from JPY 107.22 billion ($950.82 million) in October 2017.
Qatar’s total imports from Japan rocketed 84.1% year-on-year to JPY 17.77 billion ($157.58 million) in October, the data showed.
