Qatar stocks go bearish Wednesday, lose 0.85%

Doha – Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) finished Wednesday’s trading session on a lower note, weakened by the negative performance of four state sectors.

The benchmark stepped away from the level of 10,000 points after losing 85.28 points or 0.85% to 9,917.52 points.

QE Al Rayan Islamic Index closed lower 0.13% to 3,600.04. Likewise, QE All Share Index slipped 0.31% to 2,680.59 points.

Trading value declined 16.6% day-on-day to QAR334.83 million from QAR401.36 million.  Meanwhile, trading volume registered 9.84 million shares over 6,040 transactions against 9.79 million shares exchanged yesterday in 6,090 transactions.

Sector-wise, the bourse stumbled on the negative performance of four sectors as the industrial, transportation, banks, and consumer goods sectors dropped by 0.69%, 0.65%, 0.42%, and 0.41% respectively. Meanwhile, the other three sectors made gains, headed by telecoms (+0.54%), real estate (+0.27) and insurance (+0.15).

Tracking the stock movement, Al Khalij Commercial Bank was the worst decliner by 5.7%, while Zad Holding was the best advancer by 5.04%.

Barwa Real Estate, which fell 1.48%, was the most active with a traded value of QAR26 million. Meanwhile, Salam International Investment led in a volume of 1.87 million shares. Its stock also rose 3.59%.
