Qatargas delivers commissioning LNG cargo to Indian terminal

Mubasher: Qatargas on Sunday announced supplying a commissioning liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo for an Indian LNG receiving terminal.

On 25 February, the Swiss commodity trader, Gunvor, delivered the 35,000 tonnes commissioning LNG cargo onboard the vessel Golar Snow to the state-run Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), which operates the five million tonnes per annum (MTPA) Ennore terminal.

Moreover, India’s Mundra and Jaigarh terminals are also expected to be commissioned in the future, in addition to a raft of other gas-related infrastructure projects.

These terminals are forecast to improve India's capacity to import LNG by 46% to 44 MTPA from 30 MTPA as part of India’s efforts to raise the contribution of gas to the energy mix to 15%.
