Qatargas to provide 1.1m tonnes of LNG to Shell every year

Doha - Mubasher: Qatargas announced on Saturday that it has signed an agreement with Shell to deliver around 1.1 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year for five years, as reported by Reuters.

The agreement is set to begin in January 2019, with the supply being provided from Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Limited 4 (Qatargas 4), a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum, which holds 70%, and Shell with the remaining 30%.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, and Bahrain recently decided to cut diplomatic as well as travel and trade ties with Qatar.

Qatargas, established in 1984, is the world biggest LNG producer with an annual production capacity of 42 million tonnes.
