Qatari Bourse gains QAR 36bn in July, rises 7.3%

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatari Stock Exchange’s main index ended July’s trading rising 7.27% or 718.74 points to the level of 10,603.96 points.

The index closed June’s trading at the level of 10,652.31 points.

Turnover amounted to QAR 3.87 billion during 18 sessions across the month, compared to QAR 3.28 billion reached in 22 sessions in June.

Trading volume increased by 9.97% to 98.4 million shares from 89.4 million shares exchanged in June.

The number of transactions grew in July by 19.48% to 58,170, versus 48,680 trades in June.

The bourse capitalisation rose by about QAR 36 billion or 6.76% to QAR 568.7 billion, compared to QAR 532.7 billion last month.

The market’s sectors leapt collectively, topped by the real estate, telecom and banking sectors as they advanced by 8.52%, 7.94% and 7.27% respectively.

Since the beginning of 2016, QSE recorded a rise of 1.67% or 174.6 points.
