Doha – Mubasher: The benchmark index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) lost 7.06% or 701.9 to reach 9,237.68 points by the week which ended on 8 June.
Market capitalisation decreased 6.66% or QAR 35.36 billion to total QAR 495.35 billion ($135.69 billion) from QAR 530.71 billion ($145.62 billion) a week ago.
Liquidity hiked 84.5% to QAR 2.93 billion this week from QAR 1.59 billion, as trading volume grew 68.9% to 104.42 million shares from 61.83 million in the past week.
The banks sector led the market in terms of stocks’ value by 50.31%, followed by the industry and real estate by 12.11% and 10.19%, respectively.
Moreover, the banks also led in terms of the number of shares by 47.11%, followed by the real estate and telecom sectors by 17.6% and 14.93%, respectively.
Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, and Bahrain have cut their diplomatic relations with Qatar on Monday.
