Qatari banks’ balance sheet up QAR 27bn in 2015

Doha – Mubasher: The balance sheet of Qatari banks soared QAR 27 billion in 2015, reaching QAR 1.12 trillion last December, versus QAR 985 billion in the same months of 2014, according to a report by the Qatar Central Bank (QCB).

The report said that the banks’ deposits with the central bank decreased by QAR 6.5 billion to QAR 33.5 billion last year from QAR 40 billion in 2014.

Meanwhile, Qatar’s public balance of bonds and T-bills with the QCB rose by QAR 14.6 billion to QAR 117.4 billion in 2015, compared to QAR 102.8 billion in 2014.
