Qatari benchmark score 78 pts at close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) rose 0.78% or 76.93 points on Tuesday, reaching the level of 9,969.25 points.

The All Share Index leapt 0.88% to 2,709.7 points, and Al Rayan Islamic Index jumped 0.74% to 3,678.55 points.

Turnover increased 49.8% to QAR 606.3 million from QAR 404.8 million on Monday. Trading volume reached 13.34 million shares through 5,200 trades, compared to 10.07 million shares exchanged yesterday through 6,470 transactions.

The bourse’s sectors rose collectively, topped by insurance with a growth of 5.14%, followed by consumer goods and services as it adding 1.88%, while telecom came least in the list with a 0.04% increase.

Ahli Bank was the best performing share as it leapt 9.95%, whereas Al Meera was the worst after falling 1.72%.

Ahli Bank recorded the highest activity with a trading volume of 3.53 million shares exchanged at QAR 148.7 million.

The benchmark index dipped yesterday 0.36% or 35 points to 9,892.32 points.
