Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index rose at Thursday’s close by 1.56% or 159 points to the level of 10,412.50 points.
The index was backed by the rise in some blue chips as Doha Bank topped risers with a growth of 3.32%, Qatar Electricity and Water grew 3%, Industrial Qatar increase 2.59%, QIB leapt 2.58% and Masraf Al Rayan advanced 2.17%.
Trading volume rose 75.6% to 6.5 million shares from 6.5 million shares exchanged on Wednesday, turnover also increased 46.6% to QAR 286.8 million from QAR 195.6 million.
The bourse’s sector rose collectively, topped by the insurance sector by adding 2.4% as Qatar Insurance grew by 3.13%.
The industrial and banking sectors rose by 1.7% and 1.6% respectively.
