Qatari bourse closes 0.28% lower

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Tuesday’s trading falling 0.28% or 29.64 points to the level of 10,650.86 points.

The index was pressured by the drop in blue chips as Ezdan, Industries Qatar and Masraf al Rayan shrank by 0.66%, 1.33% and 0.82% respectively.

Trading volume decreased to 3.81 million shares from5.99 million shares exchanged on Monday, turnover also fell to QAR 171.34 million from QAR 212.91 million.

The insurance sector was the worst performer after falling by 1.11% as Al Khaleej Takaful slid 1.93%, while Qatar Islamic Insurance topped gainers by adding 1.31%.

On the other hand, the consumer goods sector shrank 1.06% as Medicare Group led the red list with a decrease of 2.26%.

QIB made the highest liquidity of QAR 36.93 million, while Vodafone Qatar was the largest-traded stock with a volume of 705,920 shares.
