Qatari bourse closes 0.45% higher

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange ended Thursday’s session in the green zone as its benchmark index grew by 0.45% or 47.5 points to the level of 10,652.31 points.

Turnover decreased 6.2% to QAR 223.42 million from QAR 238.29 million reached on Wednesday, trading volume also shrank 8.2% to 4.79 million shares from 5.22 million shares exchanged yesterday.

The market’s sectors rose collectively, topped by the transportation sector with a growth of 1.1%, followed by the telecom sectors with an increase of 0.75% as Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar leapt by 0.85% and 0.36% respectively.

The banking sector advanced 0.63%, backed by a 1.4% rise in QNB.

Nakilat led the green list after rising by 2.08%, while Commercial Bank of Qatar topped losers after falling by 0.79%.

Ezdan made the biggest trading volume activity with 764,380 traded shares, while QIB made the highest liquidity of QAR 32.3 million.
