Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Sunday’s trading on a negative note as its main index declined by 0.2% or 22.89 points to the level of 11,297.5 points.
Trading volume decreased by 52% to 3.2 million shares from 6.67 million shares exchanged on Thursday, turnover also declined 63.6% to QAR 96.5 million from QAR 264.88 million.
The insurance sector topped the red list after falling by 1.24%, pressured by the drop in Dha Insurance and Qatar Insurance by 3.67% and 1.42% respectively.
The telecom and banking sectors also shrank by 0.81% and 0.61% respectively. The latter was affected by the fall in Al Khaliji Bank, Commercial Bank of Qatar, Masraf Al Rayan and QIIB by 4.2%, 1.33%, 1% and 0.88% respectively.
Meanwhile, the real estate and industrial sector grew by 0.76% and 0.1% respectively.
Qatar Cinema was the best performing stock after adding 10% to QAR 33.
Mazaya Qatar was the most active stock with a trading volume of 953,300 shares exchanged at QAR 14.3 million.
